How To Navigate this Web Site
OnTheDash has four major categories of content -- Chronographs; Dash-Mounted Timepieces; Stopwatches; and Catalogs. Within each of the main categories, information is organized into layers, starting with the more general and then moving down to the more specific. For most visitors interested in chronographs, the Chronographs -- Main Page will be the ideal starting point. This page has one photograph of each of the models (Carrera, Monaco, Autavia, Daytona, etc.) and serves as a site map for the chronographs that are included OnTheDash.
- Click on any of the photos on the Chronographs -- Main Page, and you will be taken to the Main Page for that model. (For example, click on the photo of the Carrera, and you will go to the Main Page for the Carrera.)
- The Main Page for each model includes photographs of each of the versions of the model. Once you are on the Main Page for a model, click on the photograph of any of the versions, and you will be taken to either another Menu Page for that model or to a Gallery of photographs showing that version. (For example, click on the photo of the "Carrera" on the Chronographs -- Main Page, and you will go to another Menu Page for the Carreras. From that Menu Page, click on the Carrera 12 Dato, and you will see a Menu Page that shows all three versions of the Carrera 12 Dato (black registers on a white dial; white registers on a black dial; and white registers on a white dial). Click on the "White on Black" version, and you will be taken to the Gallery for that version, where you will find several photographs of this version of the Carrera).
- The Galleries are the "lowest level" of OnTheDash, showing detailed photographs of a particular model or variation. Once you are in a Gallery, you can click through the thumbnails, read notes about the large photograph being displayed in the center of the Gallery, and click on this center photo to view an enlargement.
In summary, there are generally at least three levels within this web site for each of Chronographs; Dashboard Timepieces; Stopwatches; and Catalogs categories --
(1) "Chronographs -- Main Page" and "Guide to Heuer Dash-Mounted Timepieces" are the top layer for these two categories;
(2) below that are the Main Pages and Menu Pages for each model (Carrera, Monaco, Autavia, Daytona, etc.) and in some instances additional Menu Pages for particular models;
(3) below that, at the lowest layer of detail, are the Galleries for each of the versions.
Dash-Board Timers
For an overview of the dashboard timers, our Guide
to Heuer Dash-Mounted Timepieces will be the ideal starting
point. This page shows each of the major models -- Master Time, Monte
Carlo, etc. -- so that you can find the model that is of interest,
and begin your tour from that point.
- Click on any of the photos on the Guide to Heuer Dash-Mounted
Timepieces page, and you will be taken to the Main Page for that
model. (For example, click on the photo of the Autavia, and you
will go to the Dashboard Autavia -- Main Page.)
- The Main Page for each model includes photographs of each of
the versions of the model -- for example, early and later
versions. Once you are on the Main Page for a model, click on the
photograph of any of the versions, and you will be taken to a
Gallery of photographs showing that version. (For example, click
on the photo of the "Early Autavia", and you will go to the
"Early Autavia --
Gallery", where you will find several photographs of the early
Autavias.)
- Once you are in the Gallery, you can click through the
thumbnails, read notes about the photograph being displayed in the
center of the Gallery, and click on this center photo to view an
enlargement.
