The
rotating outer bezel is marked with
GMT and major world cities. This same
watch, with a different bezel, was issued
to various military units, including the
South African Air Force. The amazing
legibility and rock-solid construction
make it ideal for pilots, drivers and
others who appreciate a rugged "tool
watch".

Condition
is spectacular -- near mint / near NOS.
The grain in the stainless steel is
beautiful . . . like the day it left the
factory. Other than a couple of light
scratches on the crystal, this one looks
flawless to my eye.
|
This
chronograph is an amazing "runner". Over
the last two weeks, it has been within
three or four seconds per day, with the
chronograph running. The operation of the
chronograph is also flawless, with crisp,
accurate start / stop / reset. Exactly
what you would expect from a nearly new
chronograph.
|
The
movement in the chronograph is in amazing
condition -- perfect, as if locked in a
time capsule all these years. No marks or
corrosion; it looks absolutely brand
new.

The
Lemania 5100 and 5012 powered chronographs
have near cult status among those who
collect vintage chronographs. Compare this
one to the Omega, Heuer, Sinn or Fortis
chronographs that use these movements, and
you will see that this one might be a "no
name" bargain. This is an awesome
design, and the condition of this one is
spectacular. You will not find a Lemania
5100 or 5012 chronograph in better
condition -- mechanically or
cosmetically.
