The following Master Reference Table represents the most complete compilation of information about Heuer chronographs available from any published source -- including books, magazines and online references. This Master Reference Table is designed to provide collectors and enthusiasts with a useful reference, and it will also provide the framework for the presentation of Heuer chronographs on OnTheDash. A few words about the Master Reference Table will allow our readers to effectively utilize this resource.
The core of this Master Reference Table was created in May 2003, by a detailed review of Heuer catalogs (beginning with editions circa 1972), to extract data from those catalogs regarding the specifications of each model and variation of chronograph. As such, this core included
1. complete information for certain models whose production life occured within the covered years -- 1972 through 1986 (for example, the Kentucky or Verona)
2. partial information for other models which had gone into production prior to 1972 (for example, the Autavia), and
3. no information for models that fell outside the period reviewed (for example, the Camaro)
Thanks to Bruce Mackie for developing the core of this Table through his review of these Heuer catalogs..
Expansion of the Autavia Table -- May 2003. Starting from this core, our crack research team (Bruce, Hans, Chuck and Jeff) embarked on its first major effort with the table -- expanding the Autavia section of the Master Reference Table to create a more complete list of Autavias produced from 1962 through 1986. From the original "core" of approximately 20 Autavia models, the table was expanded to cover both earlier versions (from the 1960's) and later versions (from the late 1980's). When this expansion was completed (May 16, 2003), the Autavia Reference Table included full details for 46 versions of the Autavia.
Expansion of the Carrera Table -- May 2009. On May 3, 2009, we published our most significant expansion of the MOAT, expanding the Carrera Table from 29 models and versions, included in the original MOAT, to 101 models and versions included in the expanded Carrera Table. Primary researchers and editors for this expaned Carrera Reference Table were Mark Moss and Jeff Stein, with input from Hans Schrag and Arno Haslinger. We added introductory sections to describe the various models and executions, and also added a column to begin tracking serial numbers for the various models and versions.
We refer to the Master Reference Table as the "Mother of All Tables" ("MOAT"), because it serves as the source from which our tables for individual models will be created. As the Reference Tables for particular models are created or updated, we will maintain the MOAT as a compilation of the latest versions of each of the individual tables.
We hope that you find these Reference Tables useful and would welcome any additions or corrections.

Guide to This Reference
Table.
The following are some of the conventions used in this
Reference Table: What's Included; What's
Not Included. This
Reference Table includes all the Autavias that were produced
from 1962 through 1985. This Reference Table does not
include other chronographs that Heuer produced using the
Autavia case (for example, various versions of the Skipper
and the Abercrombie & Fitch Seafarer, both of which used
Autavia cases). We
point out that there may have been other versions of
Autavias available by special order (for example, versions
with speical bezels).
We have not included the so-called "Poor
Man's" Autavias, the chronographs that Heuer
manufactured for other brands (for example, Zodiac and
Bulova), which may be identical to the Heuer Autavias (other
than the name on the dial and movement). Please Help Us Build this
Autavia Reference Table.
This expanded and
updated Autavia Reference Table is being released on
December 3, 2011, and is very much a work in progress. We
would enthusiastically welcome your contributions and
comments. The following will be especially
helpful: History / Thanks.
Our first Autavia
Reference Table was published in May 2003, based on
information provided by Hans Schrag, Bruce Mackie, and the
late Chuck Maddox. This first Autavia Reference Table
included 46 versions of the Autavia, and was the first
Reference Table published by OnTheDash. Eight years later, we
have a vibrant community of enthusiasts who collect the
vintage Heuers, with a rich exchange of information about
all aspects of these watches. Many members of the OnTheDash
/ Chronocentric Heuer Discussion Forum community have made
valuable contributions to this 2011 update of the Autavia
Reference Table, by contributing photos and sharing
information. Special thanks to Paolo Bernardi, Peter
Møller and Mark Moss who made exceptional
contributions to the update of this Autavia Reference Table.

This Reference Table
covers Carrera chronographs that Heuer produced during the
period from the introduction of the Carrera (in 1964)
through the creation of the TAG-Heuer brand, in 1985. This
Reference Table generally presents the models and versions
of the Carrera in chronological order, with the models
grouped into eight sections. It is useful to provide an
overview of the most important styles of cases that Heuer
used for the Carreras, as these case styles account for the
vast majority of the Carreras that Heuer produced over the
period covered by this Table. The Major Case
Styles.
During this period, Heuer used Two Major
Styles of cases, as follows: In addition to these
Two Major Styles of cases, Heuer used used
five other styles of cases for the Carreras, as follows: (a)
two styles of cases for the Carrera 12 Dato chronographs
(described in Section B), (b) a barrel-shaped case for the
Carreras (described in Section F), (c) a bespoke case for
the quartz-powered Carreras, derived from the 70's Style
(Second Major Style) (described in Section G), and (d) a
specific style of case for the Carreras powered by the
Lemania 5100 movement (described in SectionH). Accordingly,
we see that Heuer used a total of seven different case
styles to house the approximately 100 models and versions of
the Carrera. Guide to This Reference

Datos.
The Carrera 12 Datos are unique among the Carreras, in
that they do not have the "Carrera" name on the dial.
Still, Heuer named them the "Carrera 12 Dato" in the
catalogs, and this is how collectors refer to them. The
version that we show as "First execution Carrera 12
Dato" (which has the distinctive "fat lugs") was
introduced around 1962, before the "Carrera" existed
for Heuer; in the 1966/67 catalog, Heuer first referred to
this chronograph as the "Carrera 12 Dato", Reference 2547,
and the name was used for subsequent models produced for
several years. B-1 2547 S first execution

Heuer introduced the Second Major Style case for the Carrera
in 1969, when Heuer introduced the first automatic Carrera.
(This coincided with the introduction of a new style case
for the automatic Autavias and the introduction of the
Monaco, an entirely new model of chronograph.) This Second
Major Style of case was used for both automatic and
manual-wind Carreras, with the cases being either stainless
steel, gold-plated or 18 karat gold. The following describes
the key features of the Carreras that used the Second Major

Case. In
1974, Heuer introduced a new case for the automatic Carreras
-- a distinctive barrel-shaped case with a brushed finish
and covered lugs. These new cases were used for both Caliber

manual-wind models. The following describes the key features

Carreras.
In 1978, Heuer introduced its Carrera Twin series, described
as a new generation of electronic timepieces with combined
analog and LCD displays. The [following year], Heuer
introduced a series of quartz-powered
"time-only" watches, stating that "not everyone needs a
chronograph". The following are key features of these
