This Heuer Rally-Master set is special in two respects: (1) this is an authentic triple-set; these three timers have been together since birth; this set was not "put togther" from three singles, but all three timers were purchased together and have remained together as a set, since the late 1960's; and (2) all three pieces have just been overhauled, by TAG-Heuer's vintage department, and are running strong. This set was purchased by a rally driver in the late 1960's, and used for a few years, until it was stored for approximately 30 years. I purchased the set from the family of the original owner, and have recently had the set restored -- all three movements fully overhauled; all crystals replaced; and hands repainted with luminous. The dials are beautiful, and evenly aged on all three pieces, and were not re-touched in the restoration.

Master Time (above): This is the later version of the Master Time, with numerals 1-through-12 on the dial. This one is an absolutely amazing "runner", and ran within -- seconds per day over a period of two weeks. This dial is as clean as you will find, with no visible marks or blemishes.

Monte Carlo (above): This is the matching later version of the Monte Carlo, 12-hour stopwatch. As with the Master Time, the Monte Carlo and Auto Rally have just been overhauled, keep good time and operate properly (start / stop / reset). Together, the Master Time 8-day clock and the Monte Carlo 12-hour stopwatch formed the Rally-Master. These legendary instruments were used by most of the 1960's rally teams -- Ferrari, Porsche, Mini Cooper, Ford, Saab, Jaguar, etc.

Auto-Rallye (above): This is the one that makes this set so special. The original owner added an Auto-Rallye 60-minute stopwatch to the Rally-Master pair to complete his triple set. Notice that the Auto-Rallye and the Monte Carlo have the matching decimal minutes scales on the dial -- this is the version that the rally drivers and navigators used to time their contests. This set comes on a triple-plate. It is not marked "Heuer", but is believed to be authentic. These triple-plates can sell in the $300 to $500 range.

This is a very special Rally-Master set. In eight years of watching these Heuer dashboard timers on ebay and other dealer websites, I have seen five or fewer of the authentic triple sets -- meaning triple sets that have been together throughout their lives, rather than being put together many years later or for purposes of sale. This one remained in excellent condition over the years and has been freshly overhauled by TAG-Heuer's vintage department. Buy this very special set to complete the restoration of your vintage rally car, for your desk, or for the showcase. You won't find a better one!!
